Paul & Laura Bednarczyk, Owners
My husband Paul and I are college sweethearts who in 2010 became the proud new owners of LuLu & Luigi.
Paul grew up in the Minneapolis area and has an MBA from the Carlson School of Management, works in business development at Thrivent Financial and is LuLu & Luigi’s bookkeeper and handyman.
I am a licensed attorney who left the practice after a short stint in the Immigration Field. I’ve been involved with LuLu & Luigi in many different capacities since 2007. Currently, I focus on the day-to-day operations of the company and buying.
Both our fathers were entrepreneurs and it was our dream to follow in their footsteps and operate our own business. When not working we love to travel, cook, and take Choco our Havanese and Stais our Polish Lowland Sheepdog on long walks. Separately, Paul is a passionate hockey player who plays regularly while I study ballet and have recently fallen in love with the trapeze.
We feel very blessed to be a part of this vibrant community and appreciate your business and the relationships we have formed with our guests throughout the years. Thank you for your continued support.

The History of LuLu & Luigi
LuLu & Luigi was named for two rescued pets, LuLu (a Maltese) and Luigi (a ragamuffin), belonging to the store’s original founders, Karen L. Howe and Liz Sand who opened LuLu & Luigi in 2003 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
Karen’s years of design and retail management and Liz’s expertise in marketing were instrumental in building the LuLu & Luigi brand.
